There’s no need to travel this holiday season as the land of Bjork, Sugarcubes, Sigur Rós and more comes to Toronto with the return of Taste of Iceland’s four days of music, film, food and fun. Hear the dream pop stylings of Icelandic group Vök along with talented singer/songwriter Arny Margret — who impressed NEXT staff last month in Iceland — at the Reykjavík Calling Concert, held at El Mocambo (Thurs., Dec. 2, 8 pm ET). Watch a screening of The Hero’s Journey to the Third Pole, a documentary about an Icelandic woman raised in Nepal (Fleck Dance Theatre, Fri., Dec. 3, 7 pm ET). Strap on your skates at Harbourfront Centre Rink to a DJ set by Hermigervill (Sat., Dec. 4, 8 pm ET). All events are free but are first come, first serve, so arrive Vök early!
