Calgary-born artist Corri-Lynn Tetz takes her paintbrush to archival pornographic photography from the ’80s and ’90s to pull out the inner world of the female subjects. With the original male gaze now complicated with sensuous brush strokes and moody colour palettes, the viewer is drawn to contemplate the women’s thoughts. This lush and extensive exhibition is on view until the end of January — don’t miss it. Nothing says culture vulture like an afternoon spent at the gallery! Note that Contemporary Calgary is closed Mondays through Wednesdays.
