JUNOs, Calgary Folk Festival announce more artists
Lots of lineup news as the JUNOs and Calgary Folk Fest both dropped major new artist info this week.
NEXT faves Haviah Mighty — our first ever cover star! — and Snotty Nose Rez Kids, along with DJ Shub and bbno$, were just added to packed JUNO awards show bill, which also includes: Arcade Fire, Avril Lavigne, Charlotte Cardin, Arkells and Mustapha. Super dude Simu Liu hosts the show from the Budweiser Stage in Toronto, on Sun., May 15. Tickets available to see it in person, or you can watch it on all CBC platforms. Tickets now on sale. This year’s Calgary Folk Fest runs from July 21 through 24 at Prince’s Island Park with over 70 acts confirmed, including: Black Pumas, K’naan and rockers Spoon. NEXT cover star Courtney Barnett closes the festival, and dozens of other hot festival acts include The Besnard Lakes, Basia Bulait, The Barr Brothers, Tim Bakker and All Hands, Cadence Weapon, Astral Swans King Hannah and Ashely Shadow.
