The JUNOS are back live and in person in Toronto, with a packed slate of events honouring Canadian music that’s highlighted by the Sunday night awards show and broadcast hosted by super-dude Simu Liu with performances by Arcade Fire, Charlotte Cardin, Avril Lavigne, Mustafa, Arkells and more. The Songwriters’ Circle (May 11, Massey Hall) features Charlotte Day Wilson, The Weather Station, TOBI and Serena Ryder while emerging acts take over Toronto clubs for JUNO Fest shows throughout JUNO Week. Sketch comedy kings, the Kids’ last new shows were in 1995 and a real reunion of the combative clowns, who were also otherwise engaged with their own projects, often seemed unlikely. A KITH doc, Kids in the Hall: Comedy Punks, also airs on Prime Video on Fri., May 20.
