Simple Plan tell Vegas crowd new documentary on band’s 25-year career coming soon

Documentary on Canadian rockers is set 2025 release on Prime Video

LAS VEGAS, NV — During Canadian pop-punk powerhouses Simple Plan’s set on the main stage of When We Were Young Festival this weekend on Saturday night (Oct. 19), the band announced that a documentary about their career is currently in the works. In front of thousands of cheering fans in Las Vegas, lead singer Pierre Bouvier shared the news about the doc.

“For the last year, we have been shooting a documentary for Prime Video,” Bouvier said during their sweaty performance. “It’s coming out next year, and you guys are going to be in it!”

The announcement was met with cheers from the enthusiastic audience as we enjoyed their nostalgic set list that focused on songs from their 2002 album, No Pads, No Helmets…Just Balls, such as I’m Just A Kid, I’d Do Anything, Perfect as well as other early-career hits, including Welcome to My Life, and the What’s New, Scooby Doo? theme song.

The documentary will cover Simple Plan’s 25-year career as a multi-platinum-selling band, discuss challenges they’ve faced and reveal a more unguarded side of their lives. It will include interview footage from their close peers, including Avril Lavigne, Mark Hoppus from Blink 182, Dexter Holland & Noodles from The Offspring and Fat Mike from NoFX.

The documentary is produced by Sphere Media and directed by Didier Charette, who followed the band on tour for over a year to capture footage. A title or exact release date for the documentary has not yet been shared but a NEXT Magazine interview with Simple Plan backstage in Vegas is coming soon.
